Who will be your wedding photographer?

Here is a list of some of the things you should consider when looking for a wedding photographer.

1 - PERSONALITY

Your wedding photographer’s personality sets the tone for your entire wedding day with the bridal party, your family, the groom and his men.  This person is going to be glued to your side documenting all of your moments for all of your wedding day.  It’s vitality important that their personality matches you two as a couple.  In most cases when factoring in the engagement session, you will be working with your photographer for a year or more.  So personality is a huge part of your selection process and shouldn’t be overlooked or discounted in any way.

It really helps to build a relationship with your photographer.  In almost all the weddings we have shot, we have remained very close with our couples.  We’re able to do this because not only did our couples want to book us for our style of our photography, but we were very careful to choose couples that we felt that our personalities matched.  We truly care about our couples and their marriages, and we hope that translates on your wedding day.

2 - PRICE

It’s always the first question that comes up.  “How much do you charge to shoot a wedding”?  While price is always a factor in choosing a Charlotte Wedding Photographer, please know that it shouldn’t be the first factor or the only thing that matters.  We have personally heard of so many horror stories from brides who originally chose their wedding photography based originally on the price.  It almost always turns out to be a terrible decision.  When it’s all said and done, the wedding photography will be all you have to remember your wedding day.  We would much rather have those cherished memories on the walls of your home for a lifetime, than to have them on a thumb drive or DVD digitally for you to put in a drawer somewhere.

3 - WEDDING ALBUMS

One of the first things I ask people when they call about wedding photography is, “What do you intend on doing with all the images we’re going to give you”?  Some brides haven’t even thought about anything past just having the wedding photographer there on their day.  Most of our couples opt to place them in a beautifully designed wedding album.  Please don’t underestimate the importance of a wedding album on your wedding day.  It truly is your first family heirloom and your one keepsake you will have forever to remember your Charlotte Wedding.

When choosing your wedding photographer, look for an album that represents you and your family.  Wedding Albums come in all shapes and sizes.  Please make sure to ask your photographer questions like, “How many pages come in the wedding album”?, or “How many images are included in the wedding album”?  The album should represent you and your family as it will be a timeless piece to be admired for years to come.

4 - COVERAGE

Coverage here is referred to the number of hours your wedding photographer will be available to shoot your wedding.  Think about it carefully, you’ll want your photographer to capture and document all of moments during your wedding day.  That being said, typical coverage for your wedding day is 8 hours.  Why is this important to discuss with your future photographer.  It’s because some wedding photographers offer lower prices by giving you less than adequate wedding coverage for your day.  Then they’ll tack on hidden costs for more time.  When you finally realize what’s happening in your price structure and how they’re taking advantage of you, it’s too late and a non-refundable deposit has been made.

Most of our weddings we offer 8 hour coverage for your special day.  Some need a little more, and that’s fine.  The most important thing to us is we don’t miss anything.

5 - NUMBER OF WEDDING SHOOTERS

How many photographers are going to be there on your wedding day?  Most weddings require at least two wedding photographers.  Having two photographers ensures that your first wedding photographer is hyper focused on working with your group and family while the second wedding photographer is capturing all the other fun memorable moments at your event.

We believe by having two wedding photographers, all your photography needs can be met while ensuring nothing gets missed on your big day.
